Anna began Renaissance Players productions through Renaissance Academy in 2014 and quickly fell in love with directing. Partnered with the Oxford Virtual Academy, Anna started the musical program for high school and middle school productions including leadership and entrepreneurship curriculum to develop the use of theatrical skills in different career path choices. Anna also realized the accessibility needs of many students to theater, and this program is designed to happen during regular school hours to serve the needs of any students who are denied accessibility due to transportation. Anna and her incredible team at Renaissance Academy are highly focused on the standard of education the students are receiving, and it is her belief that specifically in performing arts the standards are few and far between due to many factors. As a current professional performer, Anna brings a wealth of knowledge to what students actually should be prepared with for a career in the performing arts, or to enter into an education program in their future, and delivers this effectively to her program. With many students now placed in college music programs, many on scholarship, and multiple students placed into professional theatrical contracts, she is driven to prepare her students for success.
Anna studied Russian Classical with Sergey Rayevskiy (Ballet Detroit) for as long as she can remember, and used her ballet training to supplement her Rhythmic Gymnastics training. With training from national team head coordinator Efrosina Angelova, along with weapons master and stunt woman Stella Angelova, Anna has a solid foundation in technique for dance and tumbling. Anna has trained with Cirque Du Soleil, and many other incredible organizations.
Anna is currently performing in Ainadamar at Detroit Opera, and recently performed in Sam Scalamoni's A Thousand Faces. She enjoyed swinging in Mary Zimmerman's and Denis Jones' "The Music Man" at Goodman Theatre & other notable appearances are Laurie in Oklahoma! with Spotlight players, and Ermengarde in Hello Dolly! with The Encore Theater. She was nominated for the Broadway World Awards as Best Actress in a Musical for her performance of Laurie, and was truly honored by the nomination.
